January 17, 1929 – September 27, 2015


Allen Cecil Houghton – a resident of Pendleton passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015, at his home.  He was 86 years old. 

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall - Jehovah’s Witness, 601 SW Runnion Avenue, Pendleton, OR 97801.  Sign the online condolence book at   Burns Mortuary of Pendleton handled arrangements.

Allen Cecil Houghton was born January 17, 1929, in Chanute, Kansas.  He later moved to the Pacific Northwest and graduated from Enumclaw High School.  He started a family November of 1946 with Phyllis Marie Houghton.  Allen worked as a logger in the Pacific Northwest and later moved to the Tri-Cities, Washington, and worked in the Laundry Delivery Business. 

He became a devout Jehovah’s Witness in 1960.  He raised his family as Jehovah’s Witnesses until his death. 

Allen is survived by his wife of nearly 69 years, Phyllis M. Houghton of Pendleton, daughters: Kristy L. Morrow of Pendleton, Connie L. Gilbert of Madras, OR, and Colette A. Harvie of Belize, Central America, a sister, Willene Finch of Richland, WA, a brother, Gary D. Houghton of Selah, WA, grandchildren: Stefanie M. Stern of Vancouver, Canada, Devin J. Morrow of Portland, OR, Terris B. Webb of Baker City, OR, Lynn A. Epley or Orting, WA, Jennifer L. Warren of Gresham, OR, Terah N. Kofhal of Madras, OR, and Amy D. Morrow of Portland, OR, fourteen great grandchildren and many dearly loved nieces and nephews.

So very sorry for your loss. He'll be missed. I know we're all looking forward to the day when we get to welcome him back, perfect and whole, for a hug and laughing conversation. He has brightened, encouraged and touched the lives of so many. I thank Jehovah for giving us such a wonderful friend and his family, and such a wonderful and bright hope for the future.
