Clair L. Neer passed away on March 9, 2014, at home.  He was 60 years old.  Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 14, 2014, at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton.  Sign the online condolence book at   Burns Mortuary of Pendleton handled arrangements. 

He was born on December 24, 1953, to James Neer and Margaret Djoseland at Memorial Hospital in Maddock, ND.  He grew up on the family farm in Oberon, ND, where he attended schools and also farmed.  He had four children: Angelia (Neer) McGuffin, Cole Neer, Billy Neer and Richard Neer, two grandsons: Jacob McGuffin and Elijah McGuffin. 

He was married to Vicki Gourley of Pendleton, Oregon, on April 26, 1998, in Devils Lake, North Dakota, by the Lutheran pastor.  They moved to Pendleton in February of 1999 to take care of Vicki’s sick mother. 

He was preceded in death by his father James Neer, his mother Margaret Neer, two sons, Cole Neer and Billy Neer.  He is survived by sisters Marge Stolz of Bismarck, ND; Kay Lohnes of Hillsboro, OR; wife Vicki Gourley-Neer of Pendleton, OR; daughter Angelia McGuffin of Hibbing, MN; son Richard Neer of Bismarck, ND; grandsons Jacob McGuffin and Elijah McGuffin; three nieces and four nephews; sisters-in-law Sherlene Carr and Eugenia Gourley of Pendleton; great nieces and nephews; as well as many friends.  We all loved Clair and we will miss him greatly.  Special thanks to niece April Campbell of Pendleton, OR, and great-nephew Justin Browning of Hillsboro, OR, (who was like a son to Clair).

You know we had great times camping with Richard, You and I in Newport Or at Beverley Beach. Those are still some of the best trips ever.

Sorry for the loss of Claire he was a great nice man and had a great sense of humor, I will miss seeing him at the. Salvation army thrift store. God bless you Vickie in your time of sorrow.
