Jerry Allen Rader – longtime Pendleton resident passed away quietly at his home with his loving dog Luke, on January 21, 2014, at his home at the age of 38.


A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014, at 4:00 PM, at the Pendleton Seventh-day Adventist Church, followed by a gathering also at the church.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Burns Mortuary of Pendleton to help offset expenses.  Sign the online condolence book at   Burns Mortuary of Pendleton handled arrangements.


Jerry was born at Community Hospital in Pendleton on April 26, 1975.  He went to Pendleton Schools from K-12th grade and graduated from Pendleton High School in 1994.  After graduation he was in the Marine Corps for a short period of time.  He worked for Lindell’s Auto Salvage and Garner’s Grocery as well as other jobs before being disabled.  He loved to go skating at the Skate City.  He enjoyed making survival bracelets from paracord.  He lived in Pendleton most of his life, and for a short time in Le Grande.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.  His favorite spot was Five Mile Creek by Mount Emily.  This past summer he went to Wallace, Idaho, to the 4-wheeler Jamboree, he just dearly loved it.  He was a member of the Elgin Seventh-day Adventist Church.  He enjoyed his prayer meetings and other events with the church.  He was a member of the Jaycees.


He is survived by: his father Ralf & Judy Rader of Wallace, ID, mom Eileen & Jeff Waggoner of Pendleton, OR, brothers Danny Rader of Weaver, AL, and Scott Schooley of Napa, CA, sisters Donna & Jason Waggoner of Puyallup, WA, Kassondra Rader of Hillsboro, OR, and Stacy & John Stange of Wallace, ID, nieces: Shelby, Lindsey, Amy Janell, Katelyn, Karissa and Miranda, nephews: Tommy, Spencer, Evan and Jonathan, aunts: Sylvia Zetik of New Plymouth, ID, Charlotte Walters of Alaska, Lisa Debban, Mary Deboer, and Rosie Hawk, uncles David Hawk and Doug Fries, grandmother Jeanette Purviance & Rosco of New Plymouth, ID, as well as lots of great friends that were just like family and loved him dearly, like Mick and Jerri.

Today as we celabrate Jerry's life, may we all know a peace that surpasses all understanding from our Father up above. A wonderful person has been taken from us to soon; may we all cherris the fond memories of this amazing man. Take with you the thought that Jerry is in a better place and know we will all share time again with him....Someday

I have known Jerry for a Very Long Time. He was such a kind caring person, that seem to love life. I want to send my prayers to his family, know that he is now with the Lord and has no more pain. He will be missed by many...... RIP my dear friend

As along time friend of Jerry I as you will miss him very much. I worked at Lindell's for many years while Jerry was also there & we had many pleasant times together.
Also extend thanks to Jerie & Mick for helping Jerry through a difficult time in his life.
I know Jerry is in a better Place & all his pain is gone.
Help us all who knew him continue to remember him as the special person he was.

I am sorry to hear of the lose of this very dear man. Jerry and I were friends for years. His wicked sense of humor and kind heartedness will be sorely missed. He had a way of listening to your troubles and sympathizing, then making a joke to lift your spirits. Miss you Jerry
