William "Bill" Brown Jr. – a resident of Pilot Rock, Oregon, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012. He was 73 years old. A Memorial Service will be conducted on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. in the Burns Mortuary Chapel in Pendleton, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bill Brown may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Oregon Chapter, 104 SW Clay Street, Portland, OR 97201. Bill was born February 11, 1938, to William and Sarah Brown in Grangeville, Idaho. In 1955 Bill enlisted into the United States Air Force. He was first stationed at McChord Air Force Base in Washington. The squadron was soon transferred to Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska, for the remainder of his four year service. He was honorably discharged in 1958. Bill then worked for his father building logging roads throughout the Pacific Northwest. While working in the Roseburg, Oregon, area, he bought a dump truck and hauled rock for the roads that his father built. In time, he traded his dump truck for a log truck, and worked for many contractors throughout Eastern Oregon. Later, Bill sold his log truck and hired on as a long-haul driver for Walmart. He is survived by his wife Marlene Brown of Pilot Rock, OR, sons Robert and Rodney Brown of Sutherlin, OR, and Darin Brown of Youngsville, NC, daughter Renee Brown of Spokane, WA, step-children Larry Warburton of Union, OR, Connie Blonquist of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Tamra Moss of Pendleton, OR, as well as 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Bill, mother Sarah, a son, Richard Brown, and a grandson, Random Moss.

Dear Marlene and family, I am so sorry to hear about Bill Uncle Big Bad. We had so much fun over the years with you and Bill. I will never forget all the practical jokes we played on each other, getting together for dinner, hunting, and other events. I always enjoyed you two so much. Bill will surely be very missed by his friends and family, including me. I am thinking of you at this sad time. Love to all, Holly and family
