Glenna R. Teghtmeyer – a resident of Pendleton, Oregon, and former resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at a Pendleton Care Facility. She was 90 years old. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 PM on Monday, May 9, at the Peace Lutheran Church in Pendleton. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Teghtmeyer may be made to: Inland Northwest Musicians, PO Box 7039, Hermiston, OR 97838. Burns Mortuary of Pendleton handled arrangements. Glenna was born on September 5, 1920 in Colorado Springs, CO, to Wilber F. and Helen Bennet Fulker. She was raised and educated in Colorado Springs where she graduated from Colorado Springs High School with the class of 1938. She then attended the University of Colorado, where she had been a member of the Tennis team. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1942. On May 1, 1943, Glenna was married to Charles Teghtmeyer in Colorado Springs. The couple had lived in: El Capitan, NM; Lawrence, KS; Sargent, CO; Salida, CO, and Colorado Springs, CO, where they raised their three children. Mrs. Teghtmeyer had been a Physical Education Teacher for: Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind, the School District #11, and Benet Hill Academy, all in Colorado Springs, CO. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Colorado Springs, CO. She was a Protestant, and was always a member of the Bible Study Fellowship. Her hobbies included playing Tennis, Sewing, Crocheting, and Bible Study. Glenna is survived by her son Garry Teghtmeyer of Scottsbluff, NE, daughters: Joyce Teghtmeyer of Weatherford, OK, and Jill Jespersen of Hermiston, OR, a brother Wilbur Fulker of Boulder, CO, and a sister Mabel Korbitz of Colorado Springs, CO, as well as one grandchild, and many friends.
