Maxine Marietta Pugsley – a resident of Pendleton died on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the home of her son Rich, in Pendleton. She was 98 years old. A Cryptside Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 18, 2010 at the Memorial Garden in Olney Cemetery in Pendleton. Maxine Mishler was born on September 21, 1912 in Woodburn, Oregon to Albert and Inez Wampole Mishler. Maxine was raised in Tillamook, Mill City, Albany and Eugene, Oregon. Her father worked for Southern Pacific Railroad, so they did a lot of moving. After graduation from Eugene High School she attended Eugene Business College. After Business College she moved with her family to Portland. In Portland she was employed at Oregon Mutual Insurance where she worked about four and a half years, until her marriage to Harold Pugsley on September 20, 1936 in Portland. Maxine and Harold moved to Pendleton in 1936, when Harold went to work for Glenn's Pharmacy. Most of her career was spent as a housewife and homemaker raising her two sons Jon and Rich. In later years helped Harold out at the Pharmacy, which he purchased in 1943. Maxine's favorite outdoor activities were bowling and fishing, which she and Harold both enjoyed. Maxine is survived by her sons Jon and wife Linda, and Rich and wife Myrna, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother and a grandson.
