Delbert E. Griffin

February 5, 1953 – September 12, 2016

 

Delbert E. Griffin, 63, of Pendleton died suddenly Monday morning, September 12, 2016.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016, at 3:00 PM at the Pendleton Seventh-day Adventist Church.  Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements.  Sign the online condolence book at www.burnsmortuary.com.

Delbert was born February 5, 1953, in San Francisco, California, to Delbert V. and LaVonna (Kruse) Griffin.  He was raised in Pendleton and attended Hawthorne Kindergarten, Harris Jr. Academy, Gem State Academy and Blue Mountain Community College.  He had worked for Harris Pine Mills, several area credit unions, the Oregonian Newspaper and most recently he was a line lead at Keystone RV.  Delbert enjoyed camping, rock hunting, basketball and bowling.  He also volunteered his time with Pathfinders.  In 2003 he married Donna.

Delbert is survived by his wife Donna Griffin; daughters Carman, Laurie, Erin and Trisha and son Shane; his mother LaVonna Griffin; his brothers Keith (Pam) and Dan (Maria) Griffin; grandchildren: Austin Parker; Ryan, Mackaleigh, Malaya, Mackenna, Mackaragh and Mackayla Lagao; Lane Roberts; Gage, Brooklyn, Jonny Jr. and Miranda Halversen; and Shane Parker Jr.; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father Delbert V. Griffin, daughter Heather Dawn Griffin, and a brother Don Griffin.

It is hard not picking you up every morning you are up in heaven with your father and daughter. We at 901 lost a great man and a true friend. Rest in peace my friend you are among your old friends and family. One day I will see you again.

Delbert was a great man that will be missed by many. I enjoyed getting to work with you for the year that i worked there. When i get there ill bring you your daily double. My heartfelt condolences to Delberts family.
