Edward Clark

December 13, 1915 – February 9, 2015

 

Edward Clark passed away Monday February 9, 2015, at his home in Gibbon, Oregon, at the age of 99. He was born December 13, 1915, in Pendleton, Oregon, to Robert Clark and Lillie Baltezore Clark. As a child he grew up in the Poverty Flats area near Pendleton and attended school at the Cabbage Hill School. Later the family moved to Weston, Oregon.

He married his wife of 75 years in 1939 at Walla Walla, Washington. They lived at Thornhollow, Elgin, and Pendleton before settling at their home in Gibbon in 1956.

Edward is survived by his son Edward Clark and wife Rindy of Gibbon, daughter Sherron King and husband Jack of Milton-Freewater, Marilyn Pickler and husband Mick of Gibbon, and his sister Lillie Brush of Yakima. He has eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers; Robert, Jim, Lee, Walt, Joe, Hugh, and Raymond, sisters; Sara Bronson, Tennie Miller, and Eva Knaus, a granddaughter, and a great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, followed by a graveside service at the Athena Cemetery. To the Clark family: I am sorry to hear of Grandpa Eds passing. An honest, rather quiet man, he always had a gem of wisdom for me. I'm saddened with his passing, but feel grateful for the privilege to have known him.
