Samuel Duane Paroz

Samuel Duane Paroz passed away on September 6, 2014, following complications from cardiac surgery.  

Duane was born August 10, 1936, La Grande, OR, to Andrew and Lucretia Paroz of Imbler.  He spent his youth in Imbler, followed by several years in Salem, finally settling in Pendleton.  Duane was fond of fast cars, peanuts and Pepsi, radios, gadgetry, tools and pretty girls.  He and his woodcrafts, which included birdhouses and wishing wells, were once featured in the Eastern Oregonian, of which he was very proud.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, David Paroz of West Frankfort, IL, two sisters, Meredith Patterson of Wenatchee, WA, and Joan Parks of Irving, TX.  He is survived by a brother, Leon Paroz of Imbler, OR, and a sister, Annette Brokaw of Las Vegas, NV, and several nieces and nephews.  

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton Chapel.  Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 19, 2014, at the Summerville Cemetery in Summerville, Oregon.  Memorials may be made to the Horizon Project, Inc. in Pendleton, OR, to the Meredith L.
