Anna Fay Thorp – born March 25, 1928, passed away on January 21st, 2013, at Ashley Manor in Hermiston, Oregon.  She was 84 years old. 

Viewing will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2013, between the hours of 2:00 and 5:00 PM, at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton.  Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013, at Skyview Memorial Park in Pendleton.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Vange John Memorial Hospice, and may be sent in care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, PO Box 489, Pendleton, OR 97801.  Sign the online condolence book at www.burnsmortuary.com  Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is handling arrangements. 

Anna was the daughter of Archie and Connie Warner and grew up on the Warner Ranch on West Birch Creek in Pilot Rock, Oregon. 

She was preceded in death by: her husband of 54 years, Loyd Thorp and a grandson, Trent Thorp, her parents Archie and Connie Werner, sisters: Nina Carnes, Rita Reimann, Getta Johnson, Leila Wilson and one brother, Ivan Warner. 

She is survived by her children: Kenneth (Dean) Schroeder of Ferndale, Washington, Karen VanderGiessen and husband Jim of Auburn, Washington, Steve Thorp and wife Debi of Everson, Washington, and Sheryl Hunter and husband David of Winthrop, Washington, ten grandchildren: Seth, Rhonda, Holli, Karla, Staci, Miranda, Trista, Alana, Brianne and Kristi, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.  She is also survived by two brothers, Donald Warner and wife Joanne of Pilot Rock, Oregon, and Robert Warner and wife Shirley of Portland, Oregon. 

Anna spent her life caring for and about her family.  She and Loyd loved to camp and hunt rocks at the various places they visited while camping. 

The family would like to send a special Thank You to Ashley Manor of Hermiston, Oregon, for the outstanding care of our mother the past sixteen months; also Thank You to Good Shepherd Hospital and Staff for making her comfortable during her short stay there, and Hospice for their assistance and care the last couple days of her life.

So sorry to hear of Anna's passing. She was 13 days older and me. We played together, went to the Byrd school together and kept in touch all our lives. I will miss her Birthday cards, Christmas wishes and occasional visits. She was a true friend.
