Mary Elizabeth Ford - a resident of Pendleton died Monday, January 2, 2012, in a Pendleton, Oregon hospital. She was 72. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 9, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. in the Burns Mortuary Chapel in Pendleton. Graveside interment will follow at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton. Following interment, friends are invited to join with the family in the Eagles Lodge of Pendleton for a time of sharing and refreshment. Viewing will be held between the hours of 12:00 noon and 5:00 P.M. on Friday, January 6, 2012, at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton. Memorials in her memory may be directed to the American Cancer Society, or to the Local VFW. Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is handling arrangements. She was the daughter of, and one of twenty-two children born to Ona and Esther Bariault Zyph. She married Vernon Ford on April 11, 1959 in Granger, Washington. The family moved to the Pendleton area in 1965, and has remained here since. Mary was a dedicated to her family. She enjoyed her crossword puzzles and keeping up on her family tree. She was a very caring and giving woman. She will be missed but not forgotten. Mary is survived by her husband Vernon of Pendleton, Oregon, two sons Vernon Ford Jr., of Pilot Rock, Oregon, and Steven Ford of Soap Lake, Washington, four brothers; Jack Zyph of Wapato, Washington, Daniel Zyph of Sunnyside, Washington, Joe Zyph of Pilot Rock, Oregon, and Bill Zyph of Pendleton, Oregon, five sisters; Margaret Belton of Granger, Washington, Dorothy Belton of Selah, Washington, Sharon Ranes of Toppenish, Washington, Shirley Newman of Mt. Lake Terrace, Washington, and Carol Levie of Irrigon, Oregon, eighteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters Vicki Morris and Debra Ford, seven brothers and five sisters.
