Carl W. Peak – a longtime Pendleton resident died on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, Washington, as the result of motorcycle accident. He was 61 years old. Funeral services will be held on Friday October 7, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Pendleton. Burial will follow at Skyview Memorial Park in Pendleton. Send condolences online at www.burnsmortuary.com Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. Carl was born on January 16, 1950 in Ash Grove, Missouri, to Carl B. and Nancy P. Pepper Peak. The family moved to Pilot Rock, Oregon, where Carl attended school, and graduated from Pilot Rock High School with the class of 1969. After high school, Carl joined the United States Army, and served his country. He was honorably discharged from duty in 1975. Carl later attended Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton. Carl had been a Corrections Officer at EOCI in Pendleton. His hobbies included hunting, whittling, and riding his Harley Davidson. Carl is survived by his mother Nancy Roscoe of Athena, OR, daughter Kimberly Lynn Dickerson of Utah, a brother Ted Peak of Roseburg, OR, sisters Peggy Prock of Miller, MO, Nancy Steinman of Pilot Rock, OR, Gerry Porter of Pilot Rock, OR, and Rena Bissinger of Pendleton, OR, 13 nieces and nephews, as well as his dear friend Julie Garcia of La Grande, OR.

Dear Kim, Just so you know your dad was a great guy. We had been friends for a few years and he was a joy to be around. To the rest of his family and Mother Nancy you son will be greatly missed. i have lots of fond memories growing up with carl and his family in pilot rock..we really had a great life back then... lots of fun... he will be missed.. may the lord shine on his soul.. rest in peace your friend bobby

Rena and Family, We were so sorry to hear of Carl Jr's passing. It has been so long since we have talked. Uncle Raymonds wife Janie passed away the 1st of Oct. so it was so sad to hear of Carl Jr's death. Sending prayers for your family. Love you all, Verniece and Mouse

Pauline, and family, I was just looking at the East Oregonian and thought to type Carl's name in and came across his obituary. So sad to hear this news, I hope you will view this. I remember "Buzzy" with such fond memories as a child. We think of you all often, would love to get together and reminisce of some good times! Blessings, DuRae, Joyce and Denise
