Dorothy Rachel Doolittle – a resident of Pendleton died on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at her home. She was 89 years old. No services are planned at this time. You may sign the online guestbook at www.burnsmortuary.com Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. Dorothy was born on November 13, 1921 to Fred W. and Lydia S. Kottke in Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota. She married Wayne Raymond Doolittle on July 7, 1953 in Waseca, Minnesota. The couple moved to Pendleton, Oregon, after the wedding, and here they remained. Dorothy had worked as a Psychiatric Aide at the Eastern Oregon State Hospital for 14 years- from 1971 to 1985. She then worked at St. Anthony Hospital for 2 and ½ years- from 1969 to 1972. She is survived by her son Jimmie William Doolittle of Pendleton, OR, and daughter Corrine Carol Gawith of Emmett, ID, a sister Carol Mills of Sioux Falls, SD, and one granddaughter, Rachel Zaha. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wayne R. Doolittle, three brothers: Donnie Kottke, Harvey Kottke and Bernie Kottke, and one sister Lois Mengel.

Dorothy was a very wonderful person. A devoted wife and fine mother. I will always remember her from the days I spent with her son Jim. I know that she is now in a wonderful place and at peace with Christ. She will be always be missed but her fond memory will live on with all that knew her.

She was a wonderful person to work with, I worked with her at Eastern Oregon Hospital. She was a very funny person, down to earth. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May she rest in Peace now
