Sharon I. "Tudy" Hinze - a longtime Pendleton resident, died on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at a local care facility. She was 75 years old. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Pendleton, with burial following at Skyview Memorial Park, also in Pendleton. She was born and raised in Pendleton, Oregon. On February 23, 1956 she married Carl R. Hinze, Sr., the couple had four children. Sharon was a homemaker. She had been a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, and she was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church. In 1990, she earned her GED. Sharon was an avid artist who loved to draw and paint. She also cultivated and raised Irises in her front yard for many years, until her failing health prevented her from doing so. She is survived by her children: Carl R. Hinze, Jr. of Gladstone, OR, Wallace A. Hinze of Tigard, OR, and Dennis R. Hinze of Pendleton, OR, brother William Pound of Pendleton, OR, grandchildren: Robert Dallas Hinze, Emily J. Hinze, Elizabeth S. Hinze, Sydney A. Hinze and Dallas G. Hinze, and great-granddaughter Lacey A. Hinze. She was preceded in death by her parents Wallace and Carmen Pound, her husband Carl R. Hinze, Sr. in 2000, and her son Dallas Lee Hinze, who passed away in 1965.

Sharon and I go back to grade school days. We both went to Hawthorne. Also, I had the privilege having Wally and Dennis as my third grade students at Washington. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you. BeverlyJonesPhelps
