Linda Karan Tapley - Linda passed away early Friday morning, March 26, 2010, succumbing to pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by family and dear friends and the final hours were spent crying, singing, praying, joking, and laughing. She was 66 years old. A memorial service will be held in her honor Saturday, April 3rd, at 4pm, at the Pendleton Seventh-Day Adventist Church. A potluck style dinner will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Linda Tapley may be made to Christian Edition and may be sent in care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, PO Box 489, Pendleton, OR 97801. Sign the register at www.burnsmortuary.com Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. Linda was born on March 28, 1943 in Pendleton, OR, to Ancel and LaVerene Baker Robinson. She lived in Pendleton, and was wed to William Tapley on September 2, 1968 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She moved to Silver Springs, Maryland where she lived while her husband served in the United States Army. The couple then moved back to Pendleton, and on to Montclair, California. They had five children, and returned to Pendleton in 1984, where they have resided since. Linda loved playing the piano and played for the groups The One Way Singers and Christian Edition, as well as the Pendleton Seventh-Day Adventist church of which she was a member, and other area churches and special events. Most recently she was the secretary and organist for the Episcopal Church. Linda was an extraordinary wife, mother, and friend who will be dearly missed. But we have a Blessed Hope that when our Heavenly Father returns, she will be raised in immortal perfection and we will have eternity with her. Linda was a faithful wife of nearly 50 years to Bill Tapley, and devoted mother to her children: Connie, Kim, Debby, Billy, and Traci, and spoiler extraordinaire to 14 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to her own, Linda was "Mom" to all of her kids' friends and friend to everyone she met.
