Sidney "Bud" Storie - a longtime resident of Pendleton died on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton. He was 79 years old. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Pendleton Senior Center. Contributions in memory of Bud Storie may be made to the Pendleton Senior Center and may be sent in care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, PO Box 489, Pendleton, OR 97801. Bud was born on April 10, 1930 in Huntington, Oregon, to Thomas and Lettie Sisley Storie. He attended schools in Huntington, and graduated from Huntington High School in 1949. Bud served in the United States Army during the Korean War in Korea and Japan, and was honorably discharged from service in 1953. He married Betty Dockweiler on June 21, 1953 in Huntington, Oregon. He had been a resident of Pendleton, Oregon since 1958. He managed the Temple Hotel Garage in downtown Pendleton until the mid 1960's, and then drove long haul truck for Fleetwood Travel Trailers to Los Angeles and back to Pendleton every week for 20 years, until his retirement. Bud was a Board Member of the Pendleton Senior Center, and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Let'er Buck post #922. Since his retirement, Bud had enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and activities held at the Senior Center. He is survived by his wife Betty, daughter Rendy Storie, son Monte Storie & wife Cindy, all of Pendleton, OR, a sister Dona Sheehy of Union, OR, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty, Rendy, and Monte, What a great Guy! Bud had a wonderful sense of community and generosity. His smile and sense of humor made him unique and very likable. May only the best of memories sustain your loss during this difficult time. I will always admire and respect Bud's memory. May God bless you all.
