Roberta Hammon – a former resident of Pendleton died on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Evergreen Vista Health Center in La Grande, Oregon. She was 87 years old. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 1:30 PM in the Skyview Memorial Park in Pendleton. Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. Send condolences to the family or sign the register at www.burnsmortuary.com Roberta was born on August 2, 1922 in St. Louis, Missouri to John and Bernice Hammon. She was raised in Missouri. She came to Oregon in 1953. Roberta was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Pendleton. She was very active in her church where she taught Sunday School and Kids Club. Mrs. Hammon had worked for St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton for numerous years. She is survived by her daughter Laura Swett and husband Perry Swett of Clackamas, OR, son Wendell and wife Diana Hammon of Pendleton, son Donald and wife Bettye Hammon of Pendleton, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Wendell, Laura, Donald, and Family I am sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. She has made a special place in several people's heart and will be remembered for a lifetime by many. I am so thankful I got to know Roberta. She was so thoughtful and loving. Because of her, I learned so much about God. She will forever be in my heart.

As a nurse at Willwbrook I developed a friendship with Miss Berdy that will always be treasured by me. We sang many Sunday School songd together. Though I did not get know know her when she was younger I count it a great privage to have known her and to have been a nurse taking care of her. GOD Bless your family.
