William P. “Bill” Faucett

July 4, 1923 – March 3, 2015

 

William P.”Bill” Faucett -  a Pendleton resident, died Tuesday evening, March 3, 2015, at his home.  He was 91 years old. 

Viewing will be held Friday, March 6th from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday, March 7th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon, at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton.  A graveside funeral service with Military Honors will be held Saturday, March 7th at 2:00 PM at Skyview Memorial Park in Pendleton.  Sign the online condolence book at www.burnsmortuary.com  Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements.

William was born July 4, 1923, in Elk, Washington, to John & Anna Faucett.  He was raised and educated in Camden, Washington.  He enlisted into the United States Marine Corps on November 2, 1942.  He served his country in combat at Bougainville, Okinawa and Ryukyu Islands during WWII.  He received Honorable Discharge from the USMC on November 14, 1945.  On December 21, 1945, he married Meldia M. Hubbard.  They had four children.  Meldia preceded him in death in 1975.  He married his second wife Laura Belle McMichael in 1976.  William worked several places and retired from the Oregon State Highway Department in 1985.  He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with family.

Bill Faucett is survived by three children: Stella Yarbrough of Meridian, ID, Lee R. Faucett of Woodbridge, VA, and Anna Sellers of Frankfort, IN, three step-children: Larry McMichael of Prineville, OR, Terry McMichael of Pendleton, OR, and Sandy Spicher of Pueblo, CO, grandchildren: Tammy Kaplan of Smithfield, VA and William Faucett of Germany, eight step-grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, fourteen step-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and eight step-great-great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife Meldia Faucett, his second wife Laura Belle Faucett, his parents, brothers Roy E. and Edward Faucett, sister Eleanor Coe, daughter Kathryn M. Faucett in 1969, grandson Roy Stever who died of crib-death in 1968, and grandson Tony Stever, killed in Iraq in 2003.
