Jim and I were so sorry to learn just today of Betty's passing. We were next door neighbors of Betty and Jack's in St. Paul. They were such wonderful neighbors and friends. Kristen, you might remember us. I was the quilter who asked you guys to hold one of my quilts on the stairs so I could get a picture of the whole thing! I regret not being better about staying in touch after we moved to Central Washington State. Betty got Jim involved in the Planning Commission in St. Paul which, I think, appealed to their mutual sense of fairness for all members of the community. We just moved back to Central Oregon and I thought many time about contacting Betty. I'll just have to look for her on the other side. Lesson learned. Love to our old neighbor.

Betty was such a lovely soul, so kind and generous, allowing our kids to swim at their pool during the summer. She left a lasting impression of her thoughtfulness and love.
