Thomas Elbert Sutherland

Thomas “Tom” Elbert Sutherland, 87, of Pilot Rock, Oregon, passed away on May 31, 2026 in Pilot Rock.

Tom, was born to Jerry Sutherland and Helen Terpening, January 26, 1939, in Pendleton, Oregon. In time, Tom found love and married Christine Pasley, August 10, 1963 in Portland, Oregon. Together they had three children: Chris, David and Cindy.

As a teacher, Tom taught electrical engineering technology to students at Oregon Technical Institute in Klamath Falls, Oregon and Blue Mountain College, in Pendleton, Oregon for 37 years.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Shirley Sutherland.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Christine, children Chris (James) Biging, Oregon, David (Kim) Sutherland, Idaho, and Cindy (Mark) Robbins, Alabama, and several grandchildren. He will be missed greatly.

There will be a graveside service conducted at Pilot Rock Cemetery, Wednesday June 10, 2026 at 3pm.
