Nancy Ann (King) Nyberg, 82 died on Friday, November 25, 2022, at a local care facility in Pendleton.
Nancy was born on August 15, 1940, in Caldwell, Idaho to Harold D. King and Frances O. (Taylor) King. Her family moved to Pendleton when she was a child. Nancy graduated from Pendleton High School in 1958.
On December 5, 1959 Nancy married Loren Nyberg in Pendleton. The two welcomed a daughter, Lori, in 1960. Nancy worked at the Pendleton Public Library before taking a job at the East Oregonian. She worked for the newspaper for 27 years until her retirement.
Nancy had many hobbies including reading, nature walks, crocheting, and gardening. She enjoyed being with her family and spoiling her pet dogs and cats. Living in Meacham meant a lot to her. She always loved being in the mountains. She was involved in community activities in Meacham including a ladies group and serving as the secretary for the Volunteer Fire Department.
Nancy is survived by her sister Charlotte “Faye” Forsythe, daughter Lori Johnson, son-in-law Britt, grandchildren Lindsey (Johnson) Thaler and Jason Johnson, a great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews.
At her request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Pendleton Animal Welfare Shelter/Pioneer Humane Society.
