Micky Dean Pickler of Adams, Oregon passed away surrounded by family in his country home on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at the age of 70.
Mick was born in Baker City, Oregon as the youngest of four brothers to Wanda and Greer Wardell Pickler. He spent his youth in Richland, Oregon where he milked cows, ran the hills with his cousins, and played sports with passion. Mick ventured into the recreational vehicle (RV) manufacturing world at the age of 23 and spent his career improving and revolutionizing the RV industry. Notably he was a member of the team that developed the first toy hauler RV, and managed RV plants in multiple states over the years. He finished his career at Outdoors RV in LaGrande, Oregon as the Director of Manufacturing beside a team akin to family.
Mick was a big personality with a giant hug and hefty handshake to match. He was a stranger to none, and often swayed friends and family into great adventures hunting elk and deer, playing a round of golf, dealing poker late into the night, or trekking into the mountains for a drive and a cord of wood.
Mick will join his late mother and father, and his three brothers, Jerry, Larry, and Milton (Terry) Pickler in heaven. He is lovingly remembered by his dedicated wife, Marilyn Pickler, his children-Melissa Powers (Kasey), Kammy Fitzgerald, Mitch Butler (Angie), Stacie Lieuallen (Ryan), Michael Pickler, and his nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
His funeral will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Burns Mortuary in Pendleton, Oregon followed by a Graveside Service at Athena Cemetery in Athena, Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored by a donation to the American Cancer Society at www.donate.cancer.org
