Maxine Ruth McClellan, 85, of Pendleton, Oregon, passed away peacefully in her home on November 11th, 2025. She was born on July 9, 1940, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
While serving in the U.S. Navy, Maxine met the love of her life, Ivan (Bud) McClellan. Together, they built a life defined by love, family, and service. As a Navy family, they lived in many states across the country and even spent time in Taiwan during Ivan’s overseas assignment. Their travels and shared experiences created lasting memories and lifelong friendships wherever they went.
After Ivan’s retirement from the Navy, Maxine and her family settled in Pendleton, Oregon, where she devoted herself to her home and family. A dedicated homemaker, Maxine’s greatest joy came from caring for those she loved. Her warmth, patience, and kindness touched everyone who knew her.
Maxine is survived by her loving husband, Ivan McClellan, and three of their four children: Miki Sykes(Kyle), Carl McClellan (Julie), and Tim McClellan (Mindy).
She was the proud grandmother of Chris McClellan (Stephanie), Tani Dickinson (Josh), Kim McClellan, Patrick Havens, and Nico Havens; and the cherished great-grandmother of Sophia, Kaden, Kinsley, and Kaliyah. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynda; her sisters Edith and Estelle and Brothers Bill,Lou and John.
Maxine will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her gentle spirit, and her steadfast support through every stage of life. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength that will continue through all who knew her.
A private family service will be held in her honor.
