Marilyn Catherine (Scott) Gassner

Marilyn C. (Scott) Gassner, 82, of Forest Grove, Oregon, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025.

She was born on May 28, 1943, in Portland, Oregon, and grew up in the Portland area. Marilyn's life was marked by devotion to her family, strength through life's changes, and a caring heart that touched many.

Marilyn was first married to Delbert Otto, with whom she welcomed two children, Debbie Johnson, and Mark (Nina) Otto. She later married Weldon Willingham and together they had two children, Bonnie Mclntyre and Scott (Anita) Willingham. On January 13,1973, Marilyn married the love of her life, David Gassner. Together they made their home in Forest Grove and shared more than 52 years of marriage. They were blessed with one daughter, Lisa (Aaron) Slater. 

Marilyn's compassion led her into a career in nursing, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse and served for many years at Forest View Care Center, where she was known for her kindness, patience, and steady dedication to those in her care.

She is survived by her husband, David; her children Debbie, Mark and his wife Nina, and Lisa and her husband Aaron Slater; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved children Bonnie and Scott.

Marilyn will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose legacy of warmth and resilience lives on through her family.

Services to honor Marilyn's life will be announced by the family at a later date.
