Keith Day Obituary

Keith Day was born in Joseph, Oregon on January 19, 1936 to Esther Doak Day and Arthur Day.

He graduated from Athena High School, briefly attended Oregon State College, and later married and had two daughters.  His second marriage introduced five children to his life.

His career began in the meat processing industry and culminated in the founding of his own business, Day’s Mobile Slaughter, in the early 70’s. Keith was a talented and hard-working butcher.  In the late 80’s, he expanded by opening a cut and wrap shop in Stanfield, OR.  After selling his business, he worked summers driving truck for local farmers, a job he enjoyed.

He loved visiting, drinking beer, and didn’t know a stranger.  He had fun singing Karaoke at the Moose Lodge in Stanfield with “Long Black Veil” being one of his favorites.  Western books were also a favorite that he read often.  We are grateful to family and the caring staff at Desire For Healing for taking great care of him until his passing.

He is survived by daughters Nanette Day and Michelle Day.

A service in Joseph, Oregon will be scheduled later this year.
