Julie Alexander, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 25, 2025, at her home on Alexander Lane.
Julie was born on November 14, 1953 in Pendleton Oregon, to the late Leroy and Beverly Bushman. She attended Gibbon Elementary School from 1st to 4th grade and continued her education at Athena Grade School.
Julie graduated from McEwen High School in Athena and later from Blue Mountain Community College, where she earned her degree with honors.
On January 6, 1973, Julie married the love of her life, Dale Sherman Alexander, in Pendleton, Oregon. They shared 52 wonderful years together and raised three beautiful children: Neil Alexander, Nicole Alexander, and Joseph Alexander. Julie was a talented artist in every sense of the word. She had a remarkable gift for beading and leatherwork — creating stunning belts, beadwork, that became treasured pieces in the community.
Her artistry earned her numerous awards at Walla Walla fair, her work was often showcased at Tamastslikt Cultural Institute, but it was never about recognition for her. Julie’s greatest joy came from seeing others wear and cherish her creations. Her hands told stories, her designs carried meaning, and her work touched the lives of so many.
Family was truly the center of Julie’s world. She was extremely proud of her children, her grandchildren, and her husband, Dale — who was her rock and partner in all things. Her love for them was unconditional, steady, and fierce. To her, family was everything.
Julie was preceded in death by her infant son, baby Alexander; her parents, Leroy and Beverly Bushman; her sister, Diana Malone; and her infant sister, Lora Anne Bushman and brother-in-law Stewart Alexander.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Sherman Alexander of 52 years; her children, Neil Alexander, Nicole Alexander (husband Van Sohappy),and Joseph Alexander; her brothers, Jeff Bushman(wife Lisa)Steven Bushman(wife Brandy) her brother-in-law, Floyd Alexander(wife Robin); her sister-in-law, Rose Alexander Samuels; her brother-in-law, Mark Alexander; six grandchildren; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, and friends.
