Jose (joe) Quintero was born on 12.25.49 in Tepehuanes, Durango Mexico, raised in Mexico City by his older sister and her family, where he attended school and graduated with a degree in business from local University.
In the early 1970’s Jose moved to California for employment and made his way up to Oregon where he met his future wife Elaine (Arellano) Quintero and married January 1975, eventually moving to Pendleton, Oregon and making it their home of many years with their 4 children.
While living in Pendleton, Jose worked in the manufacturing business for many years (Fleetwood) while working a 2nd job in the evenings washing dishes at the Red Lion all while taking classes at BMCC in business management. Jose started his own company North West Genera Services, which he owned and operated as well as being an International Representive for the THE RED BOOK till his passing.
Some of Jose’s most memorable accomplishments was spending endless hours studying to gain his US Citizenship in the early 80’s and winning the Oregon Republican Businessman of the year.
He was an avid Hunter, sports fan (SF49’ers), member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in {Pendleton and a Lions Club volunteer. Jose was liked by many people in his community, he had many friends and knew no strangers. When you s, you were always greeted with a smile, and a handshake followed by one of his many jokes.
Family was very important to Jose and he loved spending time with them and his pets.
Jose is proceeded in death by his parents and 2 siblings.
He is survived by his wife Elaine Quintero, 4 children: Brian Arellano, Darlene (Scott) McAllister, Lori (Edgar) Quintero & Lydia (Jeremy) Cook. 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Rosary will be held on Wednesday September 1, 2021 – 7:00 pm at Burns Mortuary. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 – 10:30 am at St. Andrew’s Mission, followed by a lite lunch and Burial at 2:00 pm at Olney Cemetery.
