Jerry Heimgartner, 66, of Pendleton, Oregon, passed away on March 30, 2026. Born on April 21, 1959, in Moses Lake, Washington, and raised in Pilot Rock, Oregon and Idaho, Jerry lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a generous spirit that touched everyone who knew him.
Jerry found his calling early in life, climbing behind the wheel of a truck at just 18 years old. From that moment on, the woods became a second home. He loved driving log trucks, and he took pride in the long weeks he put in to provide for the people he cherished most. It was more than a job to Jerry; it was a reflection of the kind of man he was, someone who gave everything he had for those he loved.
In 1992, Jerry married Janna, and together they built a life full of warmth and togetherness. Jerry was the kind of husband and family man who showed his love through action. He cooked many of the family's meals each week, often trying out new recipes just to surprise them with something special. Whether it was a familiar comfort dish or an adventurous new creation, his time in the kitchen was one of the many ways he poured his heart into his home.
When he wasn't on the road or in the kitchen, Jerry could be found playing brainiac games on his phone, keeping his mind sharp the way he liked to. He also enjoyed staying connected with his coworkers through phone calls and the radio, maintaining the friendships and camaraderie that made the long hauls feel a little shorter. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family.
Jerry's faith in Christ was a steady presence in his life, and his family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the arms of the Lord.
He is survived by parents, Jim and Evelyn Hatley, his loving wife, Janna, sons Nicholas and Jason, daughters Nevaeh and Greysan, and 6 grandchildren. He is also survived by brother Rick (Wanetta) and sisters Teresa (Kevin), Joan (Tim) and Rebecca (Mike). Also friends whose lives were made richer by knowing him. He was predeceased by his father, Eugene Heimgartner.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service at the Pilot Rock, Oregon cemetery. Following the graveside service, family and friends are invited to gather at the church in Pilot Rock for a service and potluck lunch. All are welcome to come and celebrate the life of a man who worked hard, loved deeply, and never stopped giving.
