Janet C. Schulz - a resident of Vancouver, Washington, and former resident of Pendleton, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in a Vancouver, Washington hospital. She was 64 years old. Graveside funeral services will be private, burial will take place in the Olney Cemetery, Pendleton, Oregon. Mrs. Schulz was born September 14, 1947 in Pendleton, Oregon. She was the daughter of Robert and Dorothy Price Bissinger. She grew up on the family ranch at South Cold Springs. She attended Pendleton schools, and graduated from Pendleton High school in 1965. After high school, she attended Eastern Oregon College for a year before she transferred to Central Washington College in Ellensburg, Washington where she received her Bachelors Degree. She later received her Masters Degree from Portland State University. She then began teaching at Camas, Washington High School, and received Teacher of the Year honors for Camas High in 1980. She married Bernard Schulz, a science teacher at Camas High School. She had taught business, and had been the head of the Business Department for Camas High. She had taught a total of 29 years for Camas High School before her retirement. Earlier in her life she had taught dance, and enjoyed making the costumes for the dance teams. She and her husband had enjoyed traveling and visiting the many horse tracks around the country. She is survived by: her mother, Dorothy Bissinger of Pendleton, a brother, Ron G. Bissinger of Boise, Idaho, two step-sons, Mike Schulz of Palm Springs California and Bruce Schulz of Eugene, Oregon. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in her death by her father, and her husband, Bernard Schulz.
