Gary Paul Sampson, Sr.

July 19, 1951-June 22, 2025

Gary Paul Sampson, Sr. passed away peacefully at home in Mission, OR. He was born in Pendleton, OR to his parents Augustine Bill and Jack Sampson. He was raised by his parents, and later his stepfather Kenneth “KB” Bill.

Gary grew up with his cousins in Thornhollow with his grandparents Joe and Rosie Thompson. He learned a lot from his grandfather Joe about hunting, fishing and riding horses. He was able to pass this knowledge on to his siblings. After he completed high school he attended Eastern Oregon State College. He would later live in Portland, OR where he worked at a cabinetry factory and Goodwill industries. He later moved back to Mission, OR and worked at Wildhorse Resort and Casino, Tamastslikt Cultural Institute and CTUIR Public Works as custodian until he retired.

Gary is preceded in death/atwai his parents, brothers Leo Sampson, Christopher, Theodore and Michael Bill, Sister Karen Jim. Granddaughter/atwai Arrita Sampson.

He is survived by his daughter, Monica Sampson, sons Gary Sampson, Jr. (Angela) and Chis Sampson (Adrienne). Grandchildren (Monica) Jordan, Jeston, Kaylyn and Brody Leonard and great grand daughter Giavanna Leonard, (Gary) Gary P. Sampson III, Jessamyn J. Sampson, Terrence J-E Sampson, stepson Tyler M. Anderson and great-grandson’s Kysen Lee Paul Sampson and Akyias Earl Sampson, (Chris) Monica, Zada, Persephone, Skylar, Remi Jodie, Indigo and Sequoya Berry. Brothers James, Alan and sister Angene Bill. Aunt Faydeana Luke, cousins, nieces and nephews.
