FOREST ROBERT RHINEHART JR
Feb. 27th, 1938 to Feb. 17th, 2025
Forest Robert Rhinehart Jr. was born in Ukiah, Oregon to Forest Rhinehart Sr. and Susan Melivinia (Millie) Hensley Rhinehart at the top of Cable Creek where the chimney still stands. He was the first of five children. Forest spent his entire life living in Umatilla County, within a two mile radius of where he was born. He attended grade school and high school in Ukiah.
Forest looked forward to deer and elk season every year. He spent his younger years working and enjoying life. He worked in the logging and construction industry. He retired from the Oregon State Highway, Ukiah Division. He was a member of the Ukiah School Board and was a Umatilla County ESD board member. Forest spent several years participating in rodeo, including riding bulls in the Senior Pro Rodeo Association. Forest went on several packing trips in the mountains with his mules. He was a member of The Back Country Horsemen of America. You would find Forest the second week in September at the Pendleton Round-Up, where he was a 46-year volunteer.
Forest is survived by his son Forest III (Frosty) and wife Kim of Ukiah, daughter Amber Rhinehart of Umatilla, daughter Crystal Rhinehart of Pendleton, son Jesse and wife Lisa of Long Creek, sister Susan Grieb of Hermiston, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his niece Rhonda Cummings of Hermiston, and nephew Terry Riddle of Lexington, and numerous other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers William (Bill), Philip, and Steven, and his half-sister Barbara Johnson.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Ukiah High School Gym. The family would like to extend an invitation to a potluck luncheon in the cafeteria following the service.
The family will return after a private burial at the Ukiah Cemetery.
