Erma Dallman Obituary

Erma Dallman died peacefully, surrounded by family on December 24, 2023, at a local care facility.  She was born on November 16, 1925 in Cohasset, Minnesota.

Erma began her education in a one-room schoolhouse in Effie, Minnesota, and completed it in Newberg, Oregon.  She married Marvin Dallman in 1943.  They moved to Pendleton in 1947 and raised five children together.  They divorced after 32 years.  Later, she met and loved her companion, Bob Carter.

Erma had a great work ethic - as a young woman, she worked in the shipyards in Portland, Oregon, for the war effort.  She enjoyed many years of employment in Pendleton with many harvest seasons at Pendleton Cannery and as a cook at Camlu Retirement Home and Hershey's Nursing Home.

After retirement, she loved volunteering at the hospital auxiliary store, where she could meet and visit with the customers.  She loved making a home for her family and decorating it to make it warm and welcoming.  She also loved chocolate and sharing it.  She was a huge fan of country music and loved all aniimals, especially kitties.

Erma was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Doug Rahier; sisters, Joyce, Sandy and Sharon; and a son, Richard Dallman.

Her memory is beloved to Erma's survivors, including children: Carol Brown (LeRoy), Vancouver, Washington; Cecil Dallman (Ginny), Yellow Pine, Idaho; Denise Stoltz (Pat), Boardman, Oregon; and Traci Mize, Enterprise, Oregon.  A brother, Arnie Rahier, Newberg, Oregon; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren.  There will be a Graveside Service at Skyview Memorial Park on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
