E. Patricia "Pat" Dick

Pat was welcomed into the world August 6, 1927 to Oran and Viola (Lane) Stoughton.  She grew up in the Nolin/Yoakum area and graduated from Echo School.

On February 14, 1944 she married Melvin Dick moving into the Nolin Teacherage Later Building a farm and new home at Nolin.  She loved animals of all kinds and spent many days horseback riding with her mom, neighbors and children.  Pat was a total farmer from vegetable gardening, moving handlines and animal care, plus all the home tasks from canning, cooking and sewing.  She and Melvin were very hands on teaching daughters, Vicki and Debbie the love of animals and many "you can do it" skills.  She also took active part in the Nolin Community Club.

After the loss of Melvin, she moved closer to family with enough acreage to have her horse and some sheep until it became too challenging.  Health required the move to assisted living where she resided for the last years of life with her feline friend KitKat.  KitKat was lovingly adopted by one of the staff at McKay Creek Assisted Living.

Pat passed June 27, 2025 at the age of 97, just a few weeks shy of her 98th birthday.  Pat is survived by daughters Vicki Scharn (William), Debbie Roesch (Barry), grandsons Jarrod and Ryan Roesch.  Granddaughter Jessica Roesch Montee (Mitch) and great grandson Quinten Montee of Gresham, Oregon.

The family thanks the kind and caring staff at McKay Creek Estates for the thoughtful, loving care they bestowed over the time she lived there, especially the last several weeks until her passing.
