Edna Marie (Charley) Goodman

Edna Marie Goodman (Charley), of Pendleton, Oregon, passed away on May 21, 2025, at the age of 72. She was born on April 21, 1953, to Lester and Susie Charley in Toppenish, Washington. She lived most of her life in Pilot Rock Oregon with Gordon and Lorena Chapman of Pilot Rock Oregon where she joined their loving family as their daughter.

Edna graduated Pilot Rock High School in 1971, Edna furthered her education at George Fox University. She went on to have a successful career at Eastern Oregon Training Centers, where she worked for 30 years until her retirement in 2005. She then lived the remainder of her life in Pendleton Oregon with her children and grandchildren in Pendleton Oregon.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Dorothy Leighty and Father Lester Charley, Foster parents Gordon and Lorena Chapman.

Edna is survived by her loving daughter, Elizabeth Erickson (spouse Shawn Erickson) as well as her cherished 8 grandchildren Tyler Goodman, Melleah Leighty (spouse Justin Futter), Kaeleen Goodman, Brandon Leighty, Nathan Leighty (spouse Katelen Leighty), Wyatt Erickson, Austin Erickson and Cameron Erickson and 4 great grandchildren Ryder Goodman, Zeak Futter, Leighton Knowles and Banx Leighty. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She spent most of her life raising her daughters, then grandchildren and enjoyed caring for her great grandson.

Edna was known for her love of spoiling her grandkids, vacations to the Oregon coast, and making anyone she met feel like family and brought the whole family together for any holiday. Edna truly knew how to make the most of life in retirement by enjoying her family time and learning the joys of online shopping. She will be remembered for being a godly woman who was a prayer-warrior for her family and friends. Most of all for her unwavering love for her family.

Edna passed away at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland WA surrounded by her family who loved her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Edna would have wanted her life to be celebrated not mourned so only a Celebration of life will be held on Thursday June 5th,2025, at 11am at Burns Mortuary in Pendleton Oregon. Her Beloved family will be having a private ceremony this summer at sea on the Oregon coast to spread her ashes, she loved the beach and ocean, as this was her favorite place to spend with her family.
