Clarence Gross Obituary

Clarence Aaron Gross was born into this world on January 27, 1929, to parents William Edgar Gross and Birtha May in in South Fork Arkansas. His mother held him almost day and night for some time as he struggled for every breath.

He learned the value of work at a young age, hauling wood and water to the school kitchen and that initiative served him well his entire life. He worked hard at home and for others and as a boy was industrious. Clarance served in the Army receiving many commendations and then married Carlie Nichols in Tacoma, Washington.

Clarance worked a variety of jobs including, milling, repairing and maintaining communication equipment for the military, and also worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). He also started a scouting post for the Royal Rangers in Springfield, Missouri and worked as a leader with them for some time.

Later in life Clarence endured many health challenges, he worked diligently at the therapies that were offered to improve his health. He had written a fair amount of personal history in his own hand, which was used to create this obituary.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, William and Birtha, and his wife Carlie. He was survived by his son David and some lifelong friends. Special thanks to his friends Pastor Winslow and Mike Post who were instrumental in coordinating his burial, celebration of life, other arrangements.
