Charles Hack Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Hack passed away peacefully at St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, WA on January 7th, 2025. Chuck was born on September 27th, 1942 in Baker, OR to Lawrence and Shirley Hack. He was raised on a ranch in Keating, OR with his 11 siblings. Chuck was proud to of graduated from Eagle Valley High School in Richland, OR in 1961. Chuck met the love of his life, Diana Alkio, at the Pendleton Round-Up in 1964. Chuck and Diana were married on May 25th, 1968 in Pendleton, OR and continued to reside in Pendleton for 56 years together. In 1971, Chuck and Diana were so excited to welcome their first little ball of fire, Royce Hack (Melissa Hack). In 1975, the couple welcomed their 2nd ball of fire, a beautiful baby girl, Monique Hack O'Grady (Michael O'Grady). Then the family fun began! Chuck was a very hard working man, initially starting out in construction and then eventually made the decision to do what he truly loved, raise cattle. Chuck loved being in the mountains and hardly ever went to town. He loved his dogs (too many to mention), his horses, and his cows. Chuck was a devoted family man and had many, many friends (he never met a stranger.) One of his ultimate joys in life was being "Papa" to his 4 grandchildren, Chyanne Hack Barron (Patrick Barron), Keenan Hack (Jennifer Hack), Clayton Hack (Lauryn Spicknall), and Madelyn O'Grady. Papa Chuck was so excited to become a great-grandpa to Greyson Barron (2021) and Sage Barron (2023). As the Cowboy rides away, he will be tremendously missed by his family and many friends.
