Billie Moses Obituary

Billie Jo Moses, age 64, passed away on April 21st after suffering a series of strokes.

She was born on August 17th, 1961, in Umatilla, OR, to her mother and father, Frances Bissinger and Russel DeMauro. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by grandson Nathan Moses, great-granddaughter Opal May Davis Moses, stepmother Marlene DeMauro, father-in-law Junior Moses, and brother-in-law Joel Moses.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, John Moses, son Warren Moses, her mother-In-law Priscilla Moses, sister-in-law Lori Patterson, and 4 grandchildren, Natalie Moses, Kira Moses, Johnathan Moses, and Samule Hibdon.

As a professional musician for nearly 30 years, a skilled drummer, singer, and guitarist, she played in various bands in the 70s – 90s. Known for her skill of singing while playing the drums, she quickly became known for her stunning ability to sing like Patsy Cline, Joan Jett, Madonna, Cindy Lauper, and, of course, with her own style for many originals.

As a co-youth pastor with her husband in Cove, OR, and later in Prineville, OR, they led many young teenagers to Christ in their own unique method of entertainment and support for youth.

She was also a skilled florist for several florists in Eastern Oregon, later becoming the Floral manager at Albertson’s in La Grande.
