Barbara Arlene Mikeska

Barbara Arlene Mikeska departed our loving family on July 20, 2025.

Barbara was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 27, 1938.

Barbara was mom to three children George David Mikeska, Toby Ellen O’Malley and Scott Douglas Mikeska.  She raised her children as a Military Spouse, moving from base to base as required by the Army.  She married David Kenneth Mikeska on February 14, 1976.

Barbara’s hobbies included collecting turtles and thimbles, crocheting, painting, quilting and embroidery.  She also enjoyed flower arranging and porcelain doll making.  

She is survived by her children George and Cheri Mikeska and Chris and Toby O’Malley.  Grandchildren Adam and Mandi Mikeska, Tarah and Julian Jimenez, Wayne Courtain and Angie Rutherford, Barbara Courtain, Ryan and Monique O’Malley, Glenn and Stacey Fitzner, Shannon Fitzner-Balbach, Caleb Mikeska and Shanna, Leah Mikeska and Michael. Twenty-two Great Grandchildren and eightGreat-Great Grandchildren.  

Services will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas 77023 at a future date.
