Duane is a fond memory of my childhood spent on the Umatilla River. He cared for and loved both my sister and I all through our Athena/Weston school years. These memories will be held dear by many.

I knew Duane several years ago when my husband and I lived in Athena. I worked at Fred's Market. I always enjoyed visiting with him. He was always cheery and had a great smile. Even though we moved away from Athena about 11 years ago, I have never forgotten him. My prayers are with you. Keep him always in your memory.

To the Family of Duane Beers, My thoughts are with you in your time of sorrow. Duane was such an awesome person and we shared lots of jokes and laughs during his bus driving career. He loved a good joke and he always found time to share a new one with me. Duane found humor in everyday things, there was always a twinkle in his eyes. Elk camp seems like a good place to be...if it's time to go. Duane will be missed by many. My prayers are with you and your family. Sincerely, Dori

Duane was my big brother, and one fine man. We shared so many precious times like the time I was in New York for a special summer program. Duane came all the way from Fort Dix to the Bronx, NY, to attend a special banquet with me--then a shy 13-year-old blind girl. How proud do you think I was of my soldier boy and big brother being there. Then in 1972 we shared getting our diplomas together at Walla Walla College with a proud family supporting us with a reunion there. So many more weddings, visits, and knowing we were there for each other though far apart. This is not goodbye, just "until later, our Duane." Dave and I love you always.

We are going to miss Duane, and have a wonderful memory of a dinner we shared the last time we were in Eastern Washington a few years ago. Also, I Dave remember that Duane took the time at our wedding to introduce me to ALL of Elaine's family. I looks like Elaine already wrote something, but I wanted to add my own thoughts and feelings. Best wishes to you Bo, and to all the family.

Dear Bo, I was saddened to get the email from Elaine that Duane had psssed on - how wonderful that he could be doing what he loved to do right up to the end. Even though I haven't kept in touch I have thought of you and Duane, often. Duane was such a pleasant person to be around - witty and warm. I regret that I won't be able to attend the memorial but I will be there in spirit. Wishing you great strength dealing with these tough times, Bo. May you draw comfort from the memories of your many years together. Much Love, Etta Mae

How I will miss my big brother. When I was little I thought I was a boy like my buddy, Duane. I even got to wear his hand-me-down-overalls. We teased each other, but I always knew he was there for me; like the time I was lost in a blizzard at 50 below, and he saved my life. I rodeoed with him, visited whenever I could, and knew no one would get bullied when he was around, especially me and my little sister. Now that our big brothers are both gone, the world is not the same. All our family grieve with Bo, Kyle, Kevin, Chad, and families. Love is like a rose, and spring must come again.

The loss of this wonderful loving man, has left the world a little darker. I want to share a few special things I cherished about my Unc. I know we all have our special stories & times we spent with Uncle Duane. For me it is all the times he would catch the horses so Lori & I could ride, it's him saying hey Bran go look under the shed & finding a litter of puppies & he let me take my pick. It was me geting that puppy just because it was from my Unc. It's taking a little girl on the afternoon hunt. It's talking about the ways of adult love with a broken hearted teenager. It's letting a collage student away from home for the 1st time live with you. It's teaching me how to roof a cabin. It's the trip to Olive Lake just us! It's bringing my new born son to meet you. It's you being the only man at my son's baby shower & telling me the most important thing is LOVE! My life is fuller because you where in it. Love Brandi

Bo, Kyle, Kevin, Chad and family ... I was saddened to hear that Duane had passed away. Today, may family and friends bring you comfort and peace; and tomorrow, let time bring you wonderful memories and laughter. He will always be remembered as a man who added in so many ways to the A-W schools ... parent, co-worker, board member, volunteer, athletic booster, and most of all, friend. God Bless,

To the Beers Family, I was saddened to hear of Duane's death. I was unable to attend the memorial, but was there in thought and spirit. I have many happy memories of Duane. He was my friend and mentor. I have two young boys and wish Duane could have met them. I would have loved to have them meet the person who helped me become the man that I am today. The Beers Family will always have a special place in my heart. Louis

I am so sorry to bother you if this is not the right person, however, I have no other way of contacting you. I believe that Duane was the biological father of my husband, now called Ron Campbell. His name before the adoption from the Campbell's was Robert Niel Beers. He was born on November 17,1961. His mother was Ann Beers. If you have any information in regards to this Bo or his family, we would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
I am sorry for your loss. Ron, my husband, believes that he has 3 brothers. We are seventh day adventist and so much want to find out Ron's childhood and heritage.
Thank you for your consideration,
