JOANN RAE (SAMS) ROWLAND BORN: NOVEMBER 28, 1954 PASSED AWAY: MAY 3, 2020 JOANN WAS BORN TO HERMAN AND JACQUELINE SAMS ON NOVEMBER 28, 1954 IN WALLA WALLA, WASHINGTON. JOANN LIVED IN WESTON/PENDLETON, OREGON FROM 1954 UNTIL 1964 WHEN SHE MOVED TO PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON WITH HER MOTHER AND STEPFATHER, STANLEY “0LE” GALLAWAY. JOANN MARRIED JOHN ROWLAND AND HAD ONE CHILD, SCOTT. HER SON WAS AND REMAINS THE DELIGHT OF HER HEART. DURING JOANN’S LIFETIME SHE LIVED IN MANY PLACES AND ENJOYED TRAVELING AND EXPERIENCING NEW CHALLENGES. JOANN’S LIFE WAS FULL OF LOVE WITH FAMILY, FRIENDS AND PETS. SHE LOVED INTERACTING WITH ALL CHILDREN, ESPECIALLY HER GRANDCHILDREN PIPER, NOAH AND KYLIEGH, WHOM SHE LOVED VERY MUCH. JOANN LOVED TO LAUGH AND PLAY “MAYHEM AND HAVOC” WITH HER SIBLINGS, AS WELL AS OTHERS. SHE LOVED TO PLAY VIDEO GAMES, CARD GAMES, DO PUZZLES, COLOR AND CROCHET. SHE LOVED MUSIC, SINGING, DANCING, WALKING, POETRY, READING, GARDENING, CARD MAKING AND LOVED TO GO TO THE BEACH. JOANN LOVED THE LORD JESUS. SHE WAS ALWAYS EXCITED TO SHARE HER FAITH WITH EVERYONE. SHE LOVED READING THE WORD OF GOD AND DEVOTIONS, AS WELL AS PRAYING. JOANN WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER HUSBAND JOHN, BOTH PARENTS, STEPFATHER STANLEY “OLE” GALLAWAY, STEPMOTHER VERA, AND STEPBROTHERS CARL AND TED. JOANN IS SURVIVED BY HER SON SCOTT (AMANDA) ROWLAND-SEIDEL; GRANDCHILDEN PIPER, NOAH AND KYLIEGH; STEP-GRANDCHILDREN ANNEBELLE, BRIAN, CADEN AND DANIEL; SIBLINGS LONITA HOWES, CLINT (MARY LOU) SAMS, LORIE (MIKE) FIELDS, MARY ANN (JOSE) HERNANDEZ, CAROL (VICTOR) HERNANDEZ, KATHLEEN ZARAGOZA, LEONA PAREDES, JIM (KIM) SAMS; AND STEP-SIBLINGS DAISY (JORGE) CISNEROS AND WILL (MARILYN) GALLAWAY. SHE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY NUMEROUS NEPHEWS, NIECES, GREAT NEPHEWS, GREAT NIECES, COUSINS AND HER “PRECIOUS FUR-BABIES” LILY AND PEANUT. JOANN WENT HOME TO HEAVEN PEACEFULLY IN THE ARMS OF HER LORD AND SAVIOR WHILE SURROUNDED BY FAMILY MEMBERS AT HER HOME IN PENDLETON, OREGON ON MAY 03, 2020 AT THE AGE OF 65. DUE TO CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES, SERVICES WILL NOT BE HELD. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, PLEASE MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS TO YOUR LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTER.

My deepest sympathy for the loss of your Mother. Prayers being said during this time of sorrow and grief. I am a classmate of Joann from the class of 1973 Port Townsend High School.

SO VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS SHE WILL BE MISSED DEARLY I WILL MISS HER STORIES AND LAUGHS WHENEVER WERE TOGEATHER.
SHES OFF ON A NEW AND BETTER LIFE WITH THE LORD LOVE YOU ALL

I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER OUR GREAT TIMES IN PT AS CHILDREN.61
