David Dean McKay Jr., Pendleton, June 15, 1939 – September 14, 2018 David Dean McKay – Kaputs Tewat - was born at Red Hawk homestead at Tutuilla to David McKay Sr. and Elsie Allen McKay. He was the ninth of twelve children. Martha, Harold, Ely, James, Beverly, Laura, Diana, Vernita, Eileen, Gayle, Daryl. He went to St. Andrews School for eight years where he played basketball. He graduated High School in 1957. He then went in to the Service until 1961 with a Honorary Discharge. He enjoyed the time in service where he traveled to Camp Pendleton, Georgia, North Carolina and spent time in Korea. He met Rebecca in 1969. They had three children, David McKay III, Damon McKay, and Darcy McKay. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Teaching many young men and women how to fish and hunt and how to dress the meat in the traditional way. Many appreciated his leadership at Wildhorse. He worked there 22 years just retiring last year at age 78. His enjoyment was his children and 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. I've known you most all my life, from grade school days right up to present. I haven't seen or talked with you in a while. We had some good times together as kids. I am sad to hear that you left this world. We will meet again on the other side. Rest In Peace David.
