Timothy K. Smith, 62 of Pendleton, OR., passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 29th, 2018.

On May 2nd, 1956, Tim was born to Gerald E. Smith and Betty L. Smith in Boise, ID.  He lived in Boise for his first three years; then the family moved to Santa Clara, CA where his parents worked in the banking business.  Later they transferred to Palo Alto, Grass Valley, and Nevada City, CA, where Tim started school.  In 1968, the family settled in Pendleton, where Tim finished his education.  He later moved to Echo, Ore., where he lived for several years working for his brother, Randy, in his store ‘Smith’s Jewelers’ in Hermiston and later for Selectric in Umatilla.  From Echo he moved to Lake Havasu, AZ, where he lived for five years and worked in construction.  While in Arizona, he met a lovely English girl, Linda and in 1990, he moved to England for two years where they got married in 1992.

They left England and moved to Pendleton where Tim’s father employed him as a mechanic at his business ‘Jerry Smith Auto’ and ‘Ugly Duck Car Rental’.  In 1994, he became a father to Cristina Lynn.  His dad retired and the business closed.  The building was remodeled and ‘Advantage Trading’ was established. Tim took over the business from his brother, and ran it until his passing.  He was also a member of the Barean Baptist church.

Tim loved to go fishing with his daughter and spent many weekends down by the river.  He exceeded in everything he engaged in including mechanics; clock/jewelry repair; electrical and plumbing, he was the perfect handy man!  He also liked music and played the guitar, but especially loved playing his drums.

Tim was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his mom Betty Smith; his daughter Cristina Smith; his brothers Geoff and Randy Smith; Cristina’s mom Linda Smith, all of Pendleton; along with many Aunts, Uncles and cousins; his nephew Todd and many many friends.

Was sad to see him in a poor state at Willowbrook, sorry I missed the funeral... Time was a great man, he helped me out, from store items to just talks. Went from customer to friend. He had a big heart and I will certainly miss him. Condolences to the family, friends, and those close to him.
