Paul Eugene Jones of Pendleton, Oregon passed away on his 88th birthday Thursday, January 4, 2018. He was born to Frank and Ida (Bly) Jones in Ridgedale, Missouri on January 4, 1930. Paul was the 7th of 11 children.

 At 18 years old Paul served in the United States Army as a general’s guard in Germany. After serving in the Army he returned to Hermiston, Oregon and fell in love with June McNair. They were married on May 25, 1951. They had 4 children: Vicki (Jones) Cline; Marilyn (Jones) Brown; Ricky Paul Jones; and Toby Jones. They had 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. Throughout their 67 years of marriage Paul and June lived in several places including: Pendleton; Hermiston; Nyssa; Heppner; and Beaver, Oregon. Paul had several occupations including working at the Umatilla Army Ordinance Depot; Sheriff of Umatilla County from 1973-1974; the railroad; driving bus; and as a general contractor for the majority of his working years. When he wasn’t busy working you could find him enjoying his hobbies of fishing camping, playing cards with his wife June, friends, family, and wood working. He loved visiting with his family and friends and spoiled his dog Shadow.

Paul is precede in death by his parents Frank and Ida (Bly) Jones, his beloved son Ricky Paul Jones, and 8 siblings.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 1:00 PM at the First Assembly of God in Pendleton, Oregon.

A few words come to mind in remembering Paul. Bird houses, CONCRETE, making Christian Life Center look more beautiful with all the flower pots, loving to have people stop by for visits, to just name a few things.
