Daniel “Dhel” Hibbard

February 13, 1951 – December 19, 2015


Daniel “Dhel” Hibbard passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Pioneer Memorial Hospital/Long Term Care in Heppner, Oregon, after two battles with cancer. 

He was born February 13, 1951, at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton, Oregon, to James E. “Slim” Hibbard and Minnie L. Wood Hibbard.  He was raised and educated in Pendleton. 

He was married and divorced twice. 

He is survived by his brother George “Levi” Hibbard and nieces Christy L. Munden of Pasco, WA, and Kelly J. Buche of Electric City, WA, and many cousins and relatives in Oregon, Washington & Texas, and trusted and admired friends: Alan & Sherie Gregory of Heppner, OR, Buz & Stacy Wainwright of Heppner, OR, Bart & Jessica Lentz of Heppner, OR, Tommy Lentz of Pasco, WA, and many, many more.

He was predeceased by his father James, his mother Minnie, both sets of grandparents, other cousins and many friends. 

A special donation account has been set-up at Bank of Eastern Oregon, Heppner, to help cover all expenses. At his request no funeral will be held in Heppner.  Disposition was by cremation and a graveside inurnment service will be held March 4, 2016, at 11:00 AM, at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton, Oregon.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to all the doctors, hospitalists, nurses and friends for all the love and comfort they have given Dhel over this tragic six years, and death.
