David was born September 1, 1950, in Portland, OR, to David Allen and Genevieve (Richey) Russell.  The Russell family moved to Pilot Rock in December of 1950, where David spent his youth.  He graduated from Pilot Rock High School in 1968 and went on to BMCC where he studied accounting.

David worked in sales most of his life with a change once in a while when he drove chip truck or logged.  He started his sales career selling vacuums.  He also sold cars for awhile.  In 2000, he went to work for Russ Dean RV.  Then he really found his niche.  When he retired, he was working for Blue Dog RV in Post Falls, ID.  He really loved all of his clients.

David was an avid hunter and liked fishing, too.

In 1988, he married Sharon Acridge.  They enjoyed almost 28 years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, his mother Genevieve, four sisters: Vicki Fickle of Hermiston, OR, Donna DeGraw of Pendleton, OR, Nadine Boatman of Walla Walla, WA, and Faith Pullen of Pendleton, OR, his sons: Melvin Russell of Irrigon, OR, and David Russell of Pilot Rock, OR, one daughter Veronica Schuening of LaGrande, OR, step-daughters Deanna Reade of Pendleton, OR, and Tina Carey of Pendleton, OR, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, David A. Russell.

He will be missed.
