Ione Madeline Adams –a longtime resident of Pendleton died Wednesday, November 19, 2013, at a Pendleton care facility.  She was 96 years old.

Ione was born March 8, 1917, to Harry and Hulda (Malzer) Beidler in Lostine, Oregon.   She was raised in Lostine where she attended schooling and graduated from Lostine High School with the class of 1935.  On December 28, 1935, she married Lester Adams in La Grande, Oregon.  The couple lived in Lsotine, Enterprise, Joseph and Kinzua before settling in Pendleton.  Ione was a Secretary for the Labor Union from 1953 until her retirement in 1978.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pendleton.  She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #28 and the Emblem Club #409.  She enjoyed gardening and playing cards, she loved spending time with her family. 


Ione is survived by her daughter Billie Earlley of Pendleton, Oregon, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Lester, her parents, one brother, two half-brothers and two half-sisters.

So sorry, Billie, to learn of your mothers death. I always enjoyed visiting with her and she always stopped and asked about my family. Many memories of days gone by....she was a wonderful person. Big hugs to you and your children.

To the family of Ione - I am so very sorry to read about the passing of your Mother. She & Lester were such wonderful friends to both myself & my late husband Carl. I wish you all the very best and send you my deepest sympathy.
