Barbara was born August 1, 1947 in Portland, Oregon to Dora Dee and Paul A. DePrez.  She graduated from Marycrest Catholic High School in Portland in 1965.  Barbara obtained her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) degree from the Sisters of Providence in Portland in 1967. She married Tom Campbell of Helix, OR on August 26, 1967.  The couple resided in Pendleton, OR.   After obtaining her LPN license she worked at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton for the following 10 years.   To continue her true passion of working in the Emergency Room, she pursued her Registered Nurse (RN) degree from Blue Mountain Community College.  While attending school, working full time as an LPN, and raising three children (2 sons and her youngest sister), she graduated with her RN license in 1978.  Barbara continued working at St. Anthony Hospital and eventually worked as the manager of the Emergency Room department for several years.  After 43 years of service at St. Anthony’s, she retired November 15, 2011.  Barbara always put the needs of her family first.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, gardening, and traveling to various destinations including one of her favorite destinations of the Oregon Coast.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 45 years, Tom Campbell, at their home in Pendleton, her son and daughter –in-law, Thomas and Niko Campbell of Kellogg, Idaho, son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Marla Campbell, of Pendleton, sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Rob Amsberry of Portland,  sister and brother-in-law Linda and Brad Raetz of Portand, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Sharon DePrez of Portland, grandchildren Korie Ann Campbell of Pendleton, Hope and Wyatt Campbell of Sheridan, Wyoming, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by both her parents.

The family would like to thank all of our friends and family for the thoughts and prayers during Barbara’s final days.

We want to extend our condolences at Barb's passing. She was a wonderful person and we were so fortunate to meet her through our dear friends Debbie and Rob. She was always there for her sister and her nieces and nephews. I don't remember very many times when something was going on for one of the Amsberry family members that Aunt Barb wasn't there helping cook and being the loving aunt and so much more for her sisters, nieces and nephews. She will be missed so much but someone who is so greatly loved and who gave so much to others is never gone, her warm presence will always be there with you all. Peace be with you.

Tom and family,

Sorry for your loss. I had the honor of working with Barb when I was a new nurse. Barb had a great work ethic and taught me the "can do" attitude. She always spoke of her family and the cherished time she got to spend with them.
Thinking of you during this difficult time. May her bright smile con't to shine!!
