How wonderful for you to have had such a caring man for a father as Mr. Cessnun. He was such a great influence in my life as an 9th grader. I didn't like to read much back then. He gave me a book that he wanted me to read... Tom Sawyer. He said it would change my life and it did. I read it in two days. I would never learned to enjoy books if not for him at that time. He encouraged me to be better than what others had expected of me in life. He personified what teaching is all about. He cared about his students and their education. I have told this story to many people over the years and have given thanks to God for such a teacher as he was for me back then. I am sad to hear of his passing, but will remember him with great fondness and as a beloved teacher to me. God bless. ~Shawna (Murr) Weiss

Kathi & family,

I would not have gotten through Junior High in Pendleton without your dad as my teacher; only because he believed in his students and helped us to believe in ourselves! God bless you and your family in your loss. May God shine a special light on your memories.
