Joan Morris Studer – a longtime resident of Pendleton died Saturday, July 28, 2012 in a Richland, Washington hospital. She was 69 years old. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Skyview Memorial Park in Pendleton. Viewing will be held Tuesday, July 31, between the hours of 12:00 noon and 5:00 P.M. at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton. Send condolences or sign the guestbook online at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Studer was born September 10, 1942 in Pendleton. She was the daughter of Alvin and Nellie Marriman Morris. She was raised and educated in Pendleton, and graduated from Pendleton High School with the class of 1961. She married Marvin G. Studer on August 10th, 1961, in Pendleton. She and her husband had lived in the communities of: Umapine, Echo, Heppner, and Coos Bay, OR, as well as Ellensburg, WA, before returning to Pendleton in 1990. While here she had worked for Harris Pine Mills in Pendleton, and later as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Amber Valley Health Care. She is survived by her husband Marvin of Pendleton, son Randy Studer of Corpus Christie, TX, daughters; Jeanette M. Loyd of Kennewick, WA, and Judy L. Costello of Corpus Christie, TX, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Wayne L. Morris and Ronald F. Morris.

Joan was a great lady and always had a smile, She will be greatly missed.

I have known Joan sense grade school thru our senior year. Joan was always happy and had a smile always. I helped her at home with her first baby. She was a very sweet friend! So sorry she is gone but she is now at peace. I will always remember her as my friend.
