Donald Orval Taillon was born July 23rd, 1931, in Cavalier, North Dakota, to parents Raoul and Vera Taillon. He died Tuesday, June 5th, 2012, at home with his family in Pendleton, Oregon, at the age of 80. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday June 12, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Pendleton. Don was raised in Cavalier, North Dakota, for most of his young life. He married Iris J. Padden of North Dakota. For most of their young lives they moved from town to town following work as a line man for the railroad. Don and Iris had 1 daughter, Sandy, and 3 sons, Steven, Scott, and Robin. They later divorced. Don was a jack of all trades. He was good at anything he decided to do. He became an electrician for the state hospital and then the prison, where he retired. He spent the last 17 years with his companion, Dorothy McCulley of Pendleton. They loved to travel, and spend time at the senior center. His other interests include fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. Donald is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by brothers Robert Bob Taillon, of Cavalier, N.D., and Lionel Taillon of Langdon, N.D., daughter Sandy and her husband Karl Lyon, of Pilot Rock, Ore., sons Steven Taillon and his wife Victoria of Muscoda, Wis., Scott Taillon and his wife Kerrie of Pendleton, Ore., and Robin Taillon and his wife Amber of Pendleton, Ore. He loved to be with his grandchildren, of which he had 9. He also had 9 great-grandchildren. He will be terribly missed.
